Monsoon is a tough season for tabla makers, because many phases in the process involve waiting for the tabla head to dry before the next step in the process can happen. When there is no sun and really high humidity, everything dries much more slowly. Here's a snap of Mahfooz Sahib speeding up the process with fire.
